- CTRL+J APAC marks the second in a series of regional and international conversations to foster shared learning, innovation and collective agendas to sustain quality journalism in the era of AI and emerging technologies.
Indonesia’s booming tech industry and recent regulatory efforts to support publisher rights on digital platforms provides a timely setting to launch this regional dialogue. The event will gather publishers, regulators, technologists, and civil society actors to examine pathways for strengthening journalism in the AI era and build fairer partnerships between media and technology players.
The agenda for this conference is under development. Discussions will explore:
- The relationship between publishers and AI platforms, taking stock of current conversations and exploring the roadmap ahead, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region
- Language barriers in AI and initiatives to promote linguistic diversity in Large Language Models
- Current and emerging frameworks for digital platforms to compensate journalistic content
- Innovative solutions and successful strategies to support journalism in the APAC region
- What the future looks like from platforms’ perspectives, and their efforts to maintain credible and accurate information ecosystems
